Russian Air Force Sukoi-24 pilots like low-level flying. Here’s a video that shows one of their treetop-altitude missions from inside the cockpit. The latest footage shows Su-24s flying a training mission following a highway at low level.
Unlike previous videos, where Sukoi Fencers' low passes were filmed from the ground, this one shows what it feels like to fly at ultra-low altitude in a Russian attack plane.
In other countries, this kind of training is mainly performed outside of populated areas. In Russia, pilots can buzz cars and trucks. Let’s hope no driver gets distracted by the fast-moving and noisy combat plane.
Last month, a Russian Su-24MR flew within 1,000 yards of the USS Donald Cook, a U.S. Navy destroyer operating in the Black Sea following the crisis in Ukraine, in a show of force considered “provocative and inconsistent with international agreements.”
