The video below shows Norwegian Air Force pilot “Hanche” from the 338 Squadron based at Ørland Main Air Station on a training sortie. The pilot flies at incredibly low altitude, fires live ordnance and simulates attacks against an enemy drone and battleship.
The video is shot from the cockpit of a Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) F-16A MLU. The plane carries AIM-120B AMRAAM, AIM-2000 IRIS-T, GBU-54 JDAM munitions throughout its mission.
The mission features low-level flying over Eikesdalvatnet, live firing of an IRIS-T against a Banshee drone over the Halten shooting range, ultra-low level flying over the sea for a simulated attack on a warship, and a return to base in formation with another “Viper.”
The F-16 begins targeting the warship at 1:44 in the video below.
