A song urging Palestinians to run over and murder Israelis for the glory of the al-Aqsa mosque has become a social media hit, the watchdog group Palestinian Media Watch reported, with nearly half a million views on Facebook and YouTube.
The song, by Muhammad Abu al-Kayed and Anas Jaradat, calls for the defense of al-Aqsa and encourages Palestinians to “destroy, annihilate, blow them up.”
“Run over the settler, run over the settler,” the singers chortle repeatedly as cartoons depicting car attacks as a weapon flash across the screen, along with pictures from the scenes of recent terror attacks in Jerusalem and photos of violent Palestinian protests.
“The entire people demands a hero willing to fight with weapons; he began fighting with a car, running them over like rabbits,” one verse says.
“Wait for them at the intersection; let the settler drown in red blood; terrorize them, your heart is strong; careful: show no compassion,” goes another.
The song goes on to praise several men who carried out attacks recently, including Abdelrahman al-Shaludi, who on October 22 killed an infant and a young woman at a Jerusalem light rail station (“He did it for his country with his limited means”) Ibrahim al-Akary, who on November 5 killed two people in a similar light rail attack (“Al-Akary, bless your [soul]”), Mu’taz Hijazi, who on October 29 attempted to assassinate right-wing Temple Mount activist Rabbi Yehudah Glick outside the Menachem Begin Heritage Center (“Mu’taz has been promised Paradise.”)
All three men were shot and killed following the attacks.
Other photos sport the slogan “The Car Intifada — Da’es,” a play on the Arabic word for “run over,” Da’es, and the Arabic name for the Islamic State group, Daesh, which has taken over large parts of Syria and Iraq.
